Bats emit calls from about 12 kHz to 160 kHz, but the upper frequencies in this range are rapidly absorbed in air.

Market available bat detectors can record ultrasonic calls in frequencies in the range of 10 kHz to 200 kHz.

Within the project several bat detectors of different technical characteristics will be procured and tested in order to examine their effectiveness on detection and their performance at specific conditions.
