Installation of the dtbird system at CRES Wind Farm
DTBird is a self-working system that monitors bird activity in real time and detects any bird species in daylight during the whole year.  DTBird performs real time actions, like the automatic stop of a wind turbine or the emission of warning and dissuasion sounds to birds flying in collision risk areas.

DTBird tool aims to control and reduce mortality of birds in wind farms.  In operating wind farms, DTBird system includes specific modules that take automatic actions to reduce the collision risk of birds with the wind turbines, DTBird Collision avoidance module, DTBird Stop control module.

DTBird has four (4) modules available for birds with the following features:
1.  Detection, Automatic and real-time detection of birds by high resolution image analysis.
2.  Collision Avoidance, Emission of warning and discouraging sounds adjusted to bird collision risk and legal requirements.
3.  Collision Control, Video and audio recording of high collision risk flights, including bird collisions with wind turbines (tower, nacelle, blades), and injured birds that fly away.
4.  Stop Control, Automatic wind turbine stop trigger and restart, according to real time collision risk of bird flights detected.
